I create art through painting and mixed media, which is usually a combination of acrylic paint along with hand painted papers, handmade papers and other mediums used to enhance or add layers and depth.

In a time where so many things in life are so serious, making art gives me the opportunity to play. It allows me to experiment. And it gives me an outlet for thinking and working through questions and solving problems.

I love color. I love texture. I love to work in mixed media and collage. It makes me happy to see something come together into a finished piece. I may begin a painting with an idea or direction but I have found that painting is more of a dialogue between me and the work. I try to listen to what a painting has to say rather than force a preconceived notion of what it should look like.

Making art gives me the opportunity to share a sense of vitality, which to me is a true celebration of a life well-lived.
